McCormick Place -
HORSHAM, Pa., Sept. 6 -Human Resource Executive magazine today announced that PeopleSoft founder, Dave Duffield, has been added as "keynoter" at the 8th Annual HR Technology Conference & Exposition(R). This year's event will be held October 19 - 21, 2005 at Chicago's McCormick Place, and Duffield will be interviewed from 8 to 9 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2005 by conference co-chair Bill Kutik.
Duffield will appear as a "Visionary of HR Technology." He founded PeopleSoft in 1987 and served as its CEO until retiring in 1999, returning in 2004. Previously, he started three other successful HRMS (human resource management systems) vendors: Information Associates, Integral Systems, and Business Software Company. He is currently working on launching his fifth company called Workday, which plans to release its first product next year.
Kutik, also the technology columnist for Human Resource Executive(R), said, "We're honored to have Dave Duffield as a keynote presenter this year. Without argument, he is the foremost innovator in HR technology and has vastly improved the way organizations run their businesses during his 35-year career. Conference attendees will benefit significantly from his insights into the current state of HR technology, as well as his thoughts on where the industry's next steps will take us."
Duffield joins an impressive selection of conference speakers, including HR thought-leader and academic Dave Ulrich, recently profiled in Fast Company magazine. Ulrich will open the conference with his first speech in three years detailing his latest thoughts on how technology can help HR deliver both traditional transactional value and newer transformational value to organizations. Named by Business Week as the number one management educator and guru in 2001, Ulrich's 12th book, "The HR Value Proposition," was just released this summer by Harvard Business School Publishing.
Closing keynoter, Jac Fitz-enz, the pioneer of HR benchmarking and metrics, returns to describe specific applications that align, stabilize and engage the workforce; help retain customers; and grow top-line revenue.
This year's event also features more than 170 exhibitors, as well as the industry's first Integrated Compensation and Performance Management Shootout, featuring live scripted demonstrations. Additional conference sessions, presented by senior HR executives, will help attendees advance their knowledge in today's critical workforce topics, including recruiting, performance management, HR portals, HR outsourcing, and learning management.
