Contech Receives New Business from American Axle

PORTAGE, Mich., Jan. 30 // -- CONTECH U.S., LLC, a Marathon Automotive Group Company, has been awarded aluminum die casting business by American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) for multiple castings used on GM platforms.

    CONTECH was awarded new Axle Carrier and Cover business to be used on the GM Epsilon II platform. These parts will be launched for the 2009 and 2010 model years and represents $6.7M in new sales.

    In addition, CONTECH was awarded as takeover business from a failed supplier, the Axle Carrier, Cover and two Disconnect Housings used on the GMT- 360/370 platform and the Adjuster Nut Housing used on the GMT-900 platform. This business represents an additional $7.1M in immediate sales. CONTECH was able to take over existing tooling, modify it to run in CONTECH equipment, sample and receive production approval in 10 - 14 days for all five parts.
