MTC Awarded $6.7 Million Potential Value Contract for Army Prepositioned Watercraft Readiness Mission

DAYTON, Ohio, Sept. 28 - MTC Technologies, Inc. and subsidiaries (Nasdaq: MTCT), a significant provider of engineering, information technology and other technical solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security agencies, announced today the company was the Full and Open single award winner of the U.S. Army solicitation for professional services in support of prepositioned watercraft.

    Issued by Headquarters U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, the effort is for one base-year with three, four-month option periods. Worth a potential $6.7 million, the contract is being incrementally funded for $1.6 million against the first year's award of $3.2 million.

    MTC is the prime contractor for the award with partnership support from Stanley Associates and Yokohama Engineering Works based in Yokohama, Japan. The work will take place on-site at the Yokohama North Dock. Although MTC has a history of engineering work with Army watercraft in the U.S. and England, this will be new work in the arena of Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS). This care and preservation of Army prepositioned watercraft includes certain services necessary to maintain the overall deployment readiness of various Landing Craft, Tugboats, Floating Cranes, Side-loadable Warping Tugs, and associated causeway sections.
